"A Paper is more than great results"

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile was delighted to host the 2015 U21 Health Sciences Doctoral Forum which focuses on the theme of 'A paper is more than great results'. Doctoral students in health sciences disciplines, who are advanced in their studies, were invited to present their work at the forum. Presentations were 10 minutes maximum, followed by 5 minutes for questions and 5 minutes for feedback from an international review panel. Students were not expected to give an overview of their whole project but rather to highlight some of the issues they have encountered to get published and how they have resolved the issues. The main aim of this forum was to discuss the publication of manuscripts with a particular emphasis on 1) Relevance of generating a manuscript 2) Challenges encountered to get published and 3) How to choose a journal. Participating students also had the opportunity to present a poster presenting their research.
