At the meeting in Hong Kong in 2007, discussion focused on trends in each of the participating universities and any strategies in place that had led to exemplary results in particular areas of clinical teaching and research benchmarking. In 2007-2008 a working group will prepare (for publication) a paper outlining the U21 nurses' experiences of benchmarking clinical education in an international context. The next round of benchmarking in nursing (clinical education and research) will take place in 2010.

Student Exchange
U21 nursing will focus on 'virtual student exchange' utilizing a web-based system to enable students to network internationally, explore the health care systems of other countries, and debate global health care issues.

Scholars Programme
To facilitate scholarly activities, research collaboration and networking opportunities across U21 nursing schools, a basic data base of members' research interests and areas of expertise was added to the U21 Health Sciences web site. In Hong Kong, it was agreed that this data base would be refined and updated.
